What are porcelain veneers?

Are you unhappy with the colour, shape, size, or length of your teeth? Veneers can be an option to address these issues.

Porcelain veneers are custom-made in a lab and applied to the front surface of the teeth.

The veneer process is usually done over two visits. At the first appointment, the teeth are shaped to allow room for the veneers (if needed), a mould or scan is taken of the prepared teeth, and temporary veneers are placed. The custom veneers are then made in the lab according to the shape, colour, and size that you and your dentist have decided upon. They are then permanently bonded to the teeth in the second visit (usually 2-3 weeks later).

Porcelain veneers have the advantage of being able to achieve very natural looking results, and are more resistant to staining, chipping, or breaking compared to composite bonding.
